Biotechnology Research Laboratory founded in 1982, mainly providing pharmacological and pharmacokinetic tests. EMI Inc. was established in March 2004 with the addition of the Clinical Development Department.
For more than 30 years since its founding, EMI Inc. has always been committed to replenishing and improving our testing equipment, while developing new testing methods and acquiring new technologies. This is thanks to the support of the research and development of our client pharmaceutical companies as well as from investigational sites. Through clinical testing, EMI Inc. has contributed to the marketing authorization of many new drugs.
For several years, the Japanese government has done a number of programs to promote the use of generic drugs to reduce ever increasing medical costs. Partly due to this governmental support, generic drug manufacturers, which are our main clients, are expected to continue to grow in the future.
Under this circumstance, we foresee a definite growth in demand for our CRO industry as a whole, due to increases in market size, number of drugs to be developed and the outsourcing ratio.
We offer a wide range of services, including formulation tests and stability tests, to ensure high drug quality, as well as clinical tests and pharmacokinetic tests related to bioequivalence studies for newly developed drugs.
We will continuously improve our internal structure to offer technologies and services to further satisfy the needs of our customers, and we are committed to becoming a trusted CRO to meet our clients’ needs as an independent third party organization and as a member of the Nichi-iko Group under our motto “Empower through creation.”
